Textiles

 

For most of my creative life I have used textiles as my palette.

Of course I had my times making traditional embroidery

and patchwork pieces.

But they were not, to me, completely satisfying.

Two years in Oregon, with textile artists thick on the ground, and fresh ways of working with textiles, filled me with so

many new skills, attitudes, and excitement.

Since returning in 1999 my path has been one of colour, texture

and adventure. Which continues.

I use a domestic sewing machine.

I paint, dye, print, rumple, fold, embellish and add small objects to

my surfaces to celebrate

the complex beauty of the natural world.
