The native birds of Australia are amazing.

Noisy, colourful, responding to the rhythms of the seasons.

The images below are an ongoing series of mixed media portraits. The heads are coloured pencil, the bodies are sewn textiles on hand made Lokta paper. All combined with glitter and sequins. A very happy place for me.

Most of this flock have flown to happy homes, a couple are still available.
